Jobs.ca Leads Weekly Domain Sales and December 18 .CA TBR Drop Results

The week before Christmas featured a slow TBR with only 102 .ca domains taken in yesterday's December 18 drop.  The bigger news this week was the two .ca domain sales reported at DNJournal.com.

Those two sales were:

Jobs.ca  -  $450,000  -  sold at Sedo

G1.ca  -  $6,500  -  sold at Sedo

Jobs.ca was the top overall domain sale this week.  I remember it was big news when the sellers originally bought the domain back in 2008 for $600,000.  They turned it into a fully functioning Canadian jobs website, and the new owner will likely do the same.  The sellers are still involved in other Canadian job websites, so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.  The proceeds from the sale of Jobs.ca will give the sellers a lot of options.

G1.ca was the 11th overall sale for country code domains.  I am not sure who the buyer of G1.ca is, but the domain already resolves to a website that offers free G1 practice tests, a type of driving test in Ontario for new drivers.

Back to the TBR, some of the better names that were taken include:

BreastReduction.ca

 YogaGym.ca

 Habitant.ca  (where the Montreal Canadiens get their 'Habs' nickname from)

Hatcheries.ca

Armchairs.ca

 BurnabyRealty.ca  (third largest city in BC, next to Vancouver)

Excelsior.ca

 WebGuide.ca

There were a few of my dropped domains in this week's TBR, namely 018.ca, 025.ca and 026.ca.  They weren't doing much for me but still finished near the top.  Hopefully the new owners will find a good use for them.
