Clasificados.ca sells at Sedo

DomainReport.ca - I just noticed this .ca sale reported on the Sedo homepage over the weekend.

clasificados.ca - $1,500 Euros (about $2,400 Cdn.)

It's interesting to see a Spanish word in .ca sell for that amount.

Clasificados is the Spanish word for Classifieds.

A few words on Words.ca

DomainReport.ca - Just noticed on the Sedo sales homepage today that words.ca has sold for $1,800 US.

Seems like a decent price for a short generic .ca that could have a few uses, such as in games or writing.

Jan 14 TBR releases more good .ca domains

DomainReport.ca - This weeks TBR .ca domain drop was not as good as last week's, but there were still some decent domains worth mentioning. Below I've listed some of the names that caught my eye, in no particular order.

jelly.ca
onlinechat.ca
lmp.ca
jetlag.ca

idz.ca
ticketstore.ca
onlinesavings.ca
ske.ca

gaysingles.ca
pedometer.ca
rabbis.ca
vvn.ca

deserve.ca
aprilfools.ca
snuggles.ca
frenchcuisine.ca

Many of these domains have a website or business idea that comes to mind easily just by looking at them.

Ron Jackson's dnjournal weekly sales report came out yesterday, and there were no .ca's listed in the country codes section. I'm sure there must be some sales happening, they just aren't being reported. It's nice to see when .ca sales are widely reported, because it gives you an idea of where the market is at and for what type of domains. Despite the rough economy there is still demand for good .ca domains, judging by the action in the TBR every week.

As a side note, I should mention that I just learned today that Godaddy is now a registrar of the .in country code domain extension (for India). Anyone who owns .in or .co.in domains should be interested, especially if you have many domains at Godaddy and want to consolidate more of your portfolio at one registrar.

January 7 .ca TBR releases great .ca domains

DomainReport.ca - Yesterday's .ca TBR release held more domains than normal, in fact a total of 4,388 domains were released. What stood out in this TBR compared to TBRs of past months was that there was a high number of top quality domains.

Unfortunately, I think most of the good names must have come as a result of someone losing their portfolio, either due to being ineligible to own .ca domains, or somehow missing the renewals.

Also, it seems that Pool had a problem with their TBR service this week and missed out on most of the releases. Anyone who had pre-registered names with them likely missed out on all or most of their domains. A representative from Pool stated in dnforum that the problem is now fixed, but what bad timing to go down on a week like this.

Here is a partial list of some of the names that were released:

meet.ca
reviews.ca
401.ca
feet.ca

vincent.ca
antioxidant.ca
hairstyle.ca
meat.ca

m7.ca
graphic.ca
aid.ca
earn.ca

ratings.ca
dsn.ca
tests.ca
amen.ca

essay.ca
surname.ca
dcx.ca
aftermarket.ca

imail.ca
classical.ca
jog.ca
mdb.ca
meals.ca

prayer.ca
familyvacations.ca
eae.ca
vcr.ca

fridges.ca
organ.ca
portfolios.ca
ele.ca

investmentguide.ca
ska.ca
bcb.ca
chopsticks.ca
taxguide.ca

... and I could go on but I think that gives a good idea of the quality that was available. Many of these domains have gone to auction and were going for hundreds to thousands of dollars.

Q2.ca up for auction at Sedo

DomainReport.ca - I received an email today from the owner of Q2.ca informing that this domain has been put up for auction at Sedo. The link to the auction is here:

http://www.sedo.com/search/details.php4?domain=q2.ca

The owner of the domain has used it as a personal site for 8 years and now wishes to sell it. From the page on Sedo, it appears the BIN price is $4,900 US, and the minimum bid is $1,000.

There are only 260 possible LN.ca combinations. 'Q' is a decent letter to have in Canada because of the province of Quebec, and Quebec City. As for a number, '2' is always a high quality number to have in a LN or LLN combination.

The term 'Q2' could also stand for 'second quarter' in terms of financial reporting.
