Chile.ca Heats up the October 9 .CA Domain TBR Drop Results

The last two weeks have again featured a lower than usual number of .ca domains caught in the TBR.  I didn't report on last week's drop due to a lack of time on my part, but the number of caught domains was under 100.  In the October 9 drop this week, a total of 113 .ca domains were caught.

For this week's .ca domain reported sales, there were three noted in the DNJournal.com sales report.  Those sales were:

Wesley.ca  -  $5,650  - sold at ExcellentDomains.ca

BusinessPlan.ca  -  $3,800  -  sold at DomainNameSales.com

iRecycle.ca  -  $2,500  -  sold at DomainNameSales.com

Wesley.ca looks to have been purchased by Wesley Urban Ministries in Ontario.  They have been using WesleyUrbanMinistries.com and the matching .ca, so this appears to be a buy for a shorter domain.

BusinessPlan.ca is still parked at DNS.

iRecycle.ca now forwards to iRecycle.com, a Manitoba based company involved in environmentally friendly products, and goods made from recycled material.  iRecycle is a great brand name.

Things definitely picked up for me in the last month in terms of domain inquiries via the Domain Name Sales platform.  I had six inquiries come in, and five of those were for .ca domains.  No sales have yet resulted from that activity, but it is a pick up from a slow July and August.  A few other sales leads have come in from other sources too since the beginning of September, so there is something to the saying that domain activity picks up after summer.  Overall domain sales still seem to be strong based on the weekly DNJournal sales report, but I still wonder what affect all the new gtlds will have once they are out and available.  I have been dropping a few of my .ca domains (lesser keyword names that were a bit of a gamble anyway), and also dropping some .mobi domains that I have finally thrown in the towel on.

On a final note, Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadians reading this as we head into the Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend.  If you live in a US bordertown, you might see an influx of Canadians this weekend doing some holiday shopping.  Also, if you're a Walking Dead fan, the season premiere is this Sunday night.
