Recent .CA Domain Name Sales

DomainReport.ca

There were a few .ca domain name sales reported in recent weeks that I haven't had a chance to post, until today.

The April 11 DNJournal.com domain sales report featured two .ca sales.

These were:

StudyOnline.ca - $15,000 (private sale)

WFC.ca - $4,294 (sold by ExcellentDomains.ca)

In addition, a third .ca sale was reported at the Sedo marketplace.

Receipts.ca - $900 (sold at Sedo)

As for what these domains are doing now, studyonline.ca forwards to the Contact North website, which is the province of Ontario's Distance Education and Training Network.

WFC.ca forwards to the tdtcrews.com website.  WFC is not an acronym for their construction business, but the connection may be that WFC stands for 'Wood Frame Construction'.

Receipts.ca does not resolve, so we'll have to wait and see what that gets used for.

As an aside, if you haven't checked out the ExcellentDomains.ca website it is worth your while to do so if you like .ca domains.  There are many high quality .ca domains listed for sale, and I always find it interesting to browse through them.

The DNJournal domain sales report is only a couple of days away, so maybe we'll see some more reported .ca sales.

  1. I got MeetOnline.ca . You think it's worth anywhere near StudyOnline.ca at $15,000? Estibot values it at $19,000 for what's that really worth. I would rather hear what you think since you deal with lots of .ca domains.

    Also got pinning.ca & BankTrust.ca.

    Thanx for the post.

  2. I think MeetOnline is good, but StudyOnline involves online education which is probably going to keep increasing in use and competition, tuition fees, etc. It is really hard to valuate domains based on one sale and two domains sharing one keyword. MeetOnline could involve some sort of social or dating network, it's easy to imagine a use for it. To get a similar price you'd need someone to come along with a good business idea for it and deep pockets. Anything is possible with domains.

Pinning.ca is nice due to the rising use of Pinterest.com, that's what it makes me think of. Before Pinterest I wouldn't have thought much of it, but again the values of words and terms changes with the internet.
